Moving Beyond Trump's Legacy - Walz Energizes Democrats at Boisterous Convention

In a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz rallied the party faithful with an impassioned call to action.

"We'll sleep when we're dead. And we're gonna leave it all on the field," Walz told the enthusiastic crowd, emphasizing the urgency and determination needed to win in November.

Walz, running mate to presidential candidate Kamala Harris, highlighted his small-town roots as a teacher and coach before the cheering delegates.

The emotional address came after a surprise appearance by Oprah Winfrey, who urged the convention to back the Harris-Walz ticket.

Former President Bill Clinton delivered his 12th consecutive convention speech, hailing Harris as "extraordinary" while sharply criticizing Donald Trump for "creating chaos."

Meanwhile, protests continued on the streets of Chicago over U.S. policy towards the conflict in Gaza.

At the same time, Trump held his first outdoor rally since a reported assassination attempt in July, speaking from behind bullet-proof glass.

The four-day convention formally anointed Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee, in contrast to the Republicans' nomination of Trump last month.
